Bio

As Business Officer, Rosa (she, her, ella) provides management support to the Chair, and establishes and implements administrative objectives and policies for the department ensuring compliance with UC policies and procedures. Her responsibilities include academic administration and support, purchasing and financial management, staff oversight, safety and facilities management. She works closely with the Chair and student affairs staff on department curriculum planning.

Rosa is a long-time resident of Santa Barbara who has dedicated the majority of her career to working at UCSB. She has a wide range of experience in both academic advising and financial management from various positions on campus. She enjoys dedicating time to making a positive impact in our community through local organizations. Her hobbies include traveling, hiking, observing nature, foreign film, listening to K-pop, and consuming reading material. She appreciates fine dining and exploring our backyard coastal towns. Spending time with her loved ones is Rosa’s happy place.
