The Bottom Line

Writers, photographers, illustrators and videographers are invited to join our staff for spring quarter! No prior background is necessary, though any experience is welcomed. We offer trainings that will prepare you to work with us in whatever capacity you wish. We understand that UCSB students lead busy lives, and therefore allow our staff members to take on as little or as much work as they see fit.

The Bottom Line publishes news, features, investigative journalism and multimedia pieces in both our weekly newspaper, and on our websitehttp://thebottomline.as.ucsb.edu/. We're a growing paper, and pride ourselves on producing socially and culturally aware content relevant to UCSB and Isla Vista.

Our print newspaper's sections are News, Features, Arts &
Entertainment, Opinions, Health & Lifestyles and Technology, including Multimedia online. We encourage staff members to have multiple roles within TBL.

Our Winter Quarter Orientation will be Tuesday, April 2nd at 7 p.m. in the Annex, where our office is located. Also known as Building 434, the Annex is behind Storke Tower and right next to South Hall.

A Quick Note:
For those of you who are unable to attend, there will still be plenty of opportunities to join the staff of The Bottom Line this quarter. To do this, attend our Staff Meetings on Tuesdays, where you can pick up a story or photo, and then sign up for one of our trainings. These include writer trainings, photography trainings, and multimedia trainings. You are welcome to attend as many different kinds as you want, depending on your interests.
