Katie (She/Hers) is a doctoral candidate in the Feminist Studies department. She relocated from Boston, Massachusetts where she received her BA in History and International Relations at Boston University and her MA in Gender and Cultural Theory from Simmons University. Her work is concerned with how medical discourse shapes the intersections and representations of gender, sex, race, and sexuality. Her dissertation reads hysteria as a medicalized performance and asks how such embodied acts continue to implicate pathologized, feminized, and queer subjects today.
