Specialization:
Productive and Reproductive Labors
Bio:
My research explores sexuality, work, and social struggle. As an ethnographer, I love talking to working people about how they get by and push back. I use gender and sexuality theory to do labor studies at a slant, asking feminist and queer questions about identity, power, and political economy.
Research:
Labor studies, sex work, pornography, political economy, feminist and queer theory, and public policy.
Projects:
Heather's dissertation, Porn Work: Adult Film at the Point of Production, draws on ethnography and policy analysis to explore the US porn industry as a site of feminized labor in late capital. My book project, Porn Work, explores work, precarity, and resistance in the porn industry. For more information, you can find me at https://www.drheatherberg.
